Patrick Duncan


Patrick Duncan - Patrick Duncan began his drum corps career at the age of 16 as a member of the 2003 Spirit of Jacksonville State University Drum and Bugle Corps. He marched as a trumpet player for Spirit in 2003, 2004, and 2005 before moving to The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 seasons, serving as section leader his final year. As a marching member, Patrick was a decorated member of The Cadets, earning the honors of being named Visual Rookie of the Year in 2006, Brass Distinguished Service in 2007, and Visual and Brass Cadet of the Year in 2008.

Patrick began his drum corps teaching in 2010 when he joined the visual staff for The Cadets. He served as a visual technician in 2010-2011 and 2013-2015, helping The Cadets win their 10th Drum Corps International title and a high visual proficiency mark in 2011. In the summer of 2012, Patrick served as the assistant director and tour manager for The Cadets. Patrick is a current visual staff member for The Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.


Patrick served as the Director of Bands for Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel, Florida from 2013-2017. Under his tutelage, the Wiregrass Ranch Marching Band has become an FMBC state finalist, placing 2nd overall in Class AAA at the 2015 FMBC State Championship and 4th overall in Class AAAA at the 2016 FMBC State Championship event. Along with the successes of the marching program, the Wiregrass Ranch Concert Bands were consistent district MPA superior rated bands.


Patrick is a graduate from Auburn University, holding a degree in Music Education, and he is currently pursuing a Master’s of Arts in Music Education from the University of South Florida.
